Texas Mutual Sets $350 Million Dividend
- Texas Mutual Insurance Company will pay out a $350 million dividend this year to an estimated 69,000 Texas business owners.
- The group represents approximately 90% of Texas Mutual’s policyholders, according to the insurer’s statement.
- It provides coverage to 41% of the market, comprising more than 77,000 companies
- This marks the 26th year Texas Mutual has paid dividends, a total of more than $4.4 billion paid since 1999.

NY WCB Updates Hearing Sites in Work-Around Ahead of Return to In-Person
- The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board said it is restoring location information for hearing notices as the agency moves from virtual to in-person events next month in a work-around to address a website glitch.
- Last month, the agency said that beginning Oct. 8, WCB offices will be reopening for hearings and services by appointment. However, virtual hearings will remain the standard statewide for all hearing locations.
- The agency said while hearing notices continue to show the location as “virtual”, it is immediately adding a Service Center notation that will indicate the WCB location to which the case is assigned.
- “While the change was intended to improve clarity for injured workers, we understand it presented unanticipated challenges for other stakeholders who assign work based on the location on the hearing notice, the WCB’s Thursday email read.
