Oregon Guides on FY2025 Self-Insurance Rates

Oregon’s Workers’ Compensation Division has published a bulletin for self-insured employers providing the base rates to be used for calculating the premium assessment for quarters occurring during the period from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025.
Highlighted in the bulletin are the class code changes effective for the next fiscal year for classifications rating breweries, distilleries, and wineries.
Self-insureds can calculate their premium assessments using either the normal plan or the retrospective rating plan, as the agency guide explains.

The Pennsylvania House Labor and Industry Committee heard Tuesday from industry experts on the harmful effects that worker misclassification has on Pennsylvania workers.
Among those that the committee heard testimony from were Paul Prendergast, East Atlantic State Regional Council of Carpenters; and, Christopher Hallock, deputy secretary, Bureau of Safety and Labor-Management Relations, Department of Labor and Industry.
Prendergast said misclassification is “all-too-common” in the construction industry, noting that contractors do it to keep costs down by skirting payments for workers’ compensation insurance and unemployment insurance, as well as avoiding payroll taxes, overtime and other employee benefits.
