• Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker announced the appointment of Amy Bilton to the state’s Workers’ Compensation Medical Fee Advisory Board.
• Bilton was previously president of the National Medicare Secondary Payer Network
• She is now a shareholder, Medicare Secondary Payer professional and workers’ compensation defense attorney with Nyhan, Bambrick, Kinzie & Lowry

New York Workers’ Comp Assessment Set

• The New York State Workers’ Compensation Board set the 2026 assessment rate at 7% compared to a 7.1% assessment rate this year.
• The employer assessments, which are a percentage of workers’ comp premium or premium equivalent, go to fund the operations of the board and the state’s workers’ comp system.
• Assessments also go to various funds covering volunteers injured in their service.
