Cannabis Workers’ Injuries

• New research shows that workers in the cannabis industry are developing asthma and other conditions from workplace exposures to the product.
• Researchers looked at data from California, Massachusetts, Michigan and Washington and found 30 cases of work-related asthma.
• Two asthma-related deaths were found.

Florida Rate Cut Approved

• Florida Insurance Commissioner Mike Yaworsky gave final approval for a 6.9% rate cut for workers’ comp policies sold in the state.
• The National Council on Compensation Insurance developed proposal applies to workers’ comp policies that incept on or after January 1, 2026.
