Boise Blocked From Initiating Workers’ Comp Hearings 

  • The Idaho Supreme Court says the city of Boise cannot initiate hearings over disputed workers’ comp benefits.
  • The case involved a Boise police officer who was injured during a traffic stop. 
  • The City of Boise, which is self-insured, sought a hearing to suspend benefits after questioning whether some treatment was related to the industrial injury.
  • The court says only can file an application seeking a hearing by the Idaho Industrial Commission over unpaid or discontinued benefits.
